SAVE GUILFORD COLLEGE

Commissioned by the Save Guilford Alumni Association, this 12-part video series tells a compelling story of Guilford College’s unique history as a Quaker liberal arts college and highlights the success of Guilford Alumi and the impact they make on the world. This series serves as Save Guilford’s plea to the Guilford Board of Trustees as the school faces a financial crisis which threatens the future of many departments within the school. The Save Guilford Video Series is a declaration of strength, friendship and pride; a call-to-action to save the most cherished programs within this historical institution.

Produced, Directed, and Edited by Michelle Goodwin using sourced footage*.

*In light of COVID-19, subjects were prompted to record themselves with their own devices, equipped with instructions on best practices, resulting in various codecs which were thoughtfully paired together in post-production.

“Save Guilford College is a group of over 3000 alumni and F/friends of Guilford College who are bound together by our experience and love of Guilford and are organizing to save its unique Quaker liberal arts identity, with integrity and a commitment to diversity and service. Like many colleges and universities around the country, Guilford has struggled over the past several years to stay true to its core values and strengths while also carving out a path to financial sustainability. We are dedicated to upholding Quaker values, a robust interdisciplinary liberal arts program, and we are working together to build an even brighter future. The world needs Guilford College now more than ever. Guilford College changed our lives. These are our stories.”
